Alexander "Andy" Winter Moulton

Pittston - Alexander “Andy” Winter Moulton, 80, of Pittston died at his home on Friday May 19, 2017. He was born in Pittston on June 12,1936, a son of Maxwell and Sylvia (Alexander) Moulton.

Andy was born and raised in Pittston Maine.  He graduated from Gardiner High School in 1954.  He married Dorothy Rideout in 1959.  They settled in Pittston just a couple miles from where he was born. Together they raised 3 boys and 1 girl.

 Andy was a loving, caring husband who made his wife daily breakfasts and always spent quality time with her watching their favorite team the Boston Red Sox.  Their most recent trip was paid for by their children and they visited Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon for their 50th anniversary.  He was a hardworking man who always provided for his family no matter what it took.  Andy knew a little about a lot of things.  Some of his occupations included unloading railroad cars, driving school buses, digging eels, contractor work, and most recently working for working for Bath Iron Works. He always knew how to make a dollar.  Andy had a love for gardening and one of his nicknames was “Andy-radish-seed”.  He enjoyed growing pumpkins and selling them from his yard. When his grandchildren were young he loved to tease them.  Andy enjoyed fishing and spending time in the woods hunting.  In 2016, at the age of 80, he shot a bull Moose on a family hunting trip in northern Maine. His family will remember him for his contagious laugh, witty humor, beautiful blue eyes, and of course his home made mustard pickles.  They will also miss making fun his innovative ways of fixing things with duct tape or rigging things together, these were known as “Andy Specials”. Andy’s Interests included hunting, spending time in his garden, watching the nightly news, political debate, Boston Red Sox, seafood, saving money, getting a good deal, and desserts were his favorite meal

He was predeceased by his brother Samuel Moulton of Pittston and his sister Maxine Heath of Pittston

He is survived by his wife of 58 years Dorothy (Rideout) Moulton of Pittston, his children Thomas Moulton of Pittston, Timothy Moulton of Pittston,  Alexander Moulton and KC Brust of Nashville, TN,  Sherry Boudreau of Pittston, grandchildren: Tyler Moulton of Pittston, Matthew and his wife Jen Moulton of Pittston, Lyzah Moulton of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Joshua Boudreau of Jefferson, Stacy Boudreau of Windsor, Courtney Moulton of Pittston, great-granddaughter Lilly Mae Moulton of Pittston, his sister Cynthia and Al Wescott of Norway, ME.

Visiting hours will be held 6-8pm on Tuesday May 23rd at Staples Funeral Home 53 Brunswick Ave Gardiner. A graveside celebration of his life will be Wednesday May 24th at 1pm at the Whitefield Cemetery.
