Betty A (Moody) CormierDecember 14, 1950 ~ December 11, 2017 (age 66)
Gardiner – Betty A. Cormier, 66, of Gardiner passed away at the Glenridge care unit in Augusta on Dec. 11, 2017. She was born in Augusta to Kenneth R. and Pearl J. Moody. She was predeceased by her husband Arthur Cormier, her father Kenneth R. Moody, Sr., her mother Pearl J. Moody, her beloved step father Fred M. Moody, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and a nephew. She is survived by her long time friend and companion Charlie Ricker, her sons Thomas Pridham of Augusta, Troy Pridham and his wife Tracy of South Carolina, two grandchildren, Christian and Darian of South Carolina, two sisters, Gloria Hanna and her husband Blaine of Florida, Pearl M. Moody and her husband Calvin of Florida, two brothers, Linwood Moody and his wife Coleen of Chelsea, Ken Moody and his wife Wilma of Pittston, and several nieces and nephews.
Betty was a graduate of Gardiner Area High school and worked at the old Commonwealth Shoe and Leather Company in Gardiner for a time. She was a long time active member of the Augusta Congregation of the Jehovah's Witness where she enjoyed the company of many friends. Betty loved doing word puzzles, listening to country music and playing the tambourine.
She loved her sons very dearly and talked to them often. She also enjoyed pets, gardening, and flowers, lilacs being her favorite. She loved going to yard sales with her mother and two sisters Gloria and Pearl and did this often over the years. Betty also loved helping people and never expected anything in return. She was a loving and caring person and will be missed greatly by her family, friends, and all who knew her. We love you Betty.
There will be a celebration of her life at the Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah's Witness, 8 Cross Hill Rd., Augusta on Saturday, December 30th at 2 pm. Burial will be in the Spring at the Litchfield Plains Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Staples Funeral, Home 53 Brunswick Ave., Gardiner.
