Everett Ernest McCauslandMarch 23, 1930 ~ August 24, 2017 (age 87)
Augusta- Everett Ernest McCausland, 87, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 24th, at Glenridge Nursing Home in Augusta. He was born March 23rd, 1930 the son of Ernest and Susan McCausland.
He graduated from Gardiner High School Class of 1948 and went on to attend Kennebec School of Commerce. He worked for Clark Buick in Gardiner and then for the Turnpike Service Station Mile 95 in Litchfield for 40 years. He also served in the Army National Guard. Everett was a very faithful member of the Winter Street Baptist Church in Gardiner, and later became faithful member of the Union Church of Belgrade Lakes, United Methodist Church.
Everett enjoyed fishing, gardening, walking and enjoyed the outside. He especially loved to “putter” and looked forward to “toddy time”. His favorite times were spent surrounded by his family and pets.
He is predeceased by his wife Marjorie, son Charlie, brothers Harold and Richard McCausland.
He is survived his two daughters, Katherine Gerard of Augusta, and Deborah Cabaniss, and her husband Chuck of Vassalboro, son Timothy McCausland, and his wife Susan of Augusta, 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and special friends.
A memorial visitation will be held Monday, August 28th from 5 to 7pm at Staples Funeral Home 53 Brunswick Ave Gardiner. His memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 29th at 2pm at the Union Church in Belgrade Lakes. A heartfelt thanks given to the staffs at the Gardiner Alzheimer's Center and Glenridge nursing facility in Augusta for the loving care given to our dad.
