Welcome to the memorial page for

Gregory Ellis

January 25, 1962 ~ November 22, 2017 (age 55)

Gregory Ellis passed away peacefully at home with family November 22, 2017. He graduated from Gardiner Area High School in 1980. He was employed at Bob Webb’s Mobile for a number of years and Bath Iron Works 27 years. He was the Animal control officer for the Town of Pittston for a time.

Greg loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, gardening and gatherings with friends. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, a Jimmy Johnson fan. Greg had an enormous appreciation and gratitude towards our veterans where he had an area light placed at the Town of Pittston’s Veterans’ Memorial Monument, which he maintained for numerous years voluntarily. Greg would again contribute his time and energy to cleaning all the stones in the cemetery located on the Arnold Road, voluntarily.  Greg was awarded the spirit of America Award in 2017.  He was always willing to lend a hand, a go to guy, never wanting anything in return,

Greg is predeceased by his father Ronald (Dick) Ellis and his grandmother Mary Millett.

He is survived by his loving wife Tanya (Merrill) Ellis, his mother Elizabeth (Millett) Ellis, a son Brett Ellis and his companion Brianna of Windsor and extended family Adam Merrill of Harpswell and Nicole Lamereau of Brunswick. His brothers Stephen Ellis of Pittston, Jeff Ellis and his wife Diana of Pittsburg, Penn., and Darren Ellis of Pittston.  Several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.  Additional family members whom Greg loved enormously were his two black labs, Taz (predeceased) and Jetta (the apple of his eye).

Per Greg’s request, there will be no visiting hours, and a committal service will be held at a later date for family and close friends.

Greg’s family wishes to extend their heart felt thank you to New England Cancer Center in Scarborough and Doctor Devan Evans for their caring kindness during his illness.
