In loving memory of James Everett Walton, age 68 of Pittston, died on Thursday, July 27, 2017 after a short battle with lung cancer.
He was born in Gardiner Maine on September 23, 1948, the son of Albert Walton and Florence (Blaisdell) Walton.
He was predeceased by his father, Albert Walton of Gardiner and his brother Albert Walton of Lincoln.
Jim is survived by his wife of 46 years, Grace (Spear) Walton of Pittston, daugther Melissa Gregoire and her husband Michael of Augusta and son James E Walton II and his wife Amy of Pittston. He is survived by 4 grandchildren, Michael Gregoire and wife Elatia of Sidney, Elizabeth Gregoire of New Vineyard, Jazzmyne Gregoire of Augusta and Wilder James Walton of Pittston. He is survived by one great-granddaughter Lilly Mann of Sidney. He is survived by his sister-in-law Katherine Woodman and husband Jerry of Chesterville, sister-in-law Cyndi Gagnon and husband Peter of Moscow.
Jim is survived by his mother, Florence Walton of Randolph, sister Anita Levesque and husband Rudolph of Linneus, brother John Walton of Augusta and brother William Walton of Norridgewock. He is survived by several nephews, nieces, cousins and many beloved friends.
James worked at BIW for 29 1/2 years as a leadman and spray painter. Jim was actively involved with the Gardiner Elks Lodge BPOE 1293 having served as Exalted Ruler and National District Deputy and on several committees. He enjoyed camping at The Birches, going to camp in Rangeley , spending time with his family and friends, playing cards, golfing, fishing and hunting and loved traveling around the United States.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Doctors and Nursing staff on 2 West of Maine Medical Center of Augusta, Karen Gallant his hospice nurse and Angela Dunton his CNA(warm blanket friend).
Celebration of his life will be held Tuesday Aug, 1, 2017 from 11 to 1pm at Staples Funeral Home 53 Brunswick ave Gardiner. The Gardiner Lodge of Elks BPOE # 1293 will conduct a memorial service at 12 noon on Tuesday during the celebration of life.
