Augusta – Linwood (Dick) R. Moody, 72, of Augusta died Friday, March 23, 2018 after a short illness at the MaineGeneral Medical Center in Augusta surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Augusta on August 6, 1945 a son of Richard F and Jessie Mae (Dorr) Moody.
He attended Cony High School and had worked 33 plus years at Wingate Lathe in Hallowell as a master oil burner technician and supervisor of the service department.
Dick was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending a lot of time traveling in his camper from Maine to Florida and Canada. He loved to ATV with his family. Never letting the grass grow beneath his feet. His other love was his passion for antique vehicles, especially for his 1930 and 1931 Ford Model A and his 1936 Ford.
Dick was predeceased by his first wife Deborah G Moody, his son Richard E Moody, and two brothers Donald and Ronald Moody.
He is survived by his wife of 22 years Sandra Cunningham Moody of Augusta, his daughter Linda Lee Moody of Augusta, his step children, Torrey Gray of Readfield, Henry LaPoint of Honolulu, Hawaii, Todd Pullen of Pittston and Michael Pullen of Chelsea, his sisters Jeanette and her husband Bob Beaulier of West Gardiner and Juanita Giannelli and her husband John of Pittston, his grandson Aaron Hall, several step grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews and the rock of his life his dog Sammy.
Dick was very caring, attentive and loving husband, father and grandfather. He was very attentive to detail, making sure things were in their place.
At his request there will be no services. Donations may be made in his memory to the Kennebec Valley Humane Society or the Maine Cancer Association. Arrangements are under the care of Staples Funeral Home 53 Brunswick Ave Gardiner
