MARK R. ALEXANDER
Mark R. Alexander formerly of Gardiner passed suddenly on June 6,2017 at Southern Maine Medical Center after falling ill at his home in Old Orchard Beach. He turned 59 just 7 days before. Mark graduated from Gardiner High School where he was an outstanding goalie on the hockey team. He then graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in Political Science and later Sylvania Tech of Boston where he studied computers and software.
Mark was an entrepreneur starting, operated and succeeding at a number of businesses from his restaurant in Raymond Maine called Ye Olde House to his latest venture, Eclipse Home Energy. As any goalie must be, Mark was talented with his hands. He could, and did, build anything from the most complicated computer and heating and cooling systems to carpentry projects.
Most of all Mark was a proud and dedicated father to his two children, Zachary and Marysa.
Mark is survived and dearly missed by his mother Roberta Brady; father and step mother Donald and Cathy Alexander; siblings Tina Albert and Peter Alexander and his son Joshua; step siblings Tom and Ricky Moody and Tom Brady; special niece and nephew Alyssa and Isaac Albert; longtime companion Lilly and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and colleagues.
A viewing will be held at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave Gardiner Maine from 10 to 11am Friday June 9 followed by a graveside service at Mt. Hope Cemetery, South Gardiner at 11:30 on Friday, June 9.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made on Mark’s memory to the Maine Heart association.
