GARDINER Steven Alberi passed away March 12th, 2018. He was born on January 11th, 1943.
Steven was a long-time member of the Uplift, Inc. family and enjoyed his time spent at his home and at the Cobbossee Center with his many friends / staff.
Steven was an extremely big fan of Elvis Presley, Farrah Fawcett, old westerns, wrestling and dancing. He loved to dance anywhere with anyone, he enjoyed attending the annual dinners especially the dancing. Steven was always the life of the party with his big smile, funny jokes and sweet laugh.
Steven has gone on many trips (Florida) and loved to be out in the community. He went to the Civic Center and watched wrestling. Steve was an extraordinary person with a great zest for life and any one fortunate enough to spend time with him walked away with the same enthusiasm to enjoy the moment or event. He had a love for so many things including family gatherings and events such as weddings, cook outs, going out to eat, holidays, and anything that included good food and good company. Steve could and would turn any event into a special moment for all. Steve enjoyed time spent with friends and peers and any who spent time with him knew that he enjoyed and loved them very much. Steve was pre-deceased by his best friend and dearest love Betty Crocker. Who loved him so much that she even let him drive her car. Steve and Betty’s grins were from ear to ear while those watching this event were possibly in shock. Steve was an inspiration and role model to many. His always positive attitude and determination to live life to his fullest was infectious. Steven will be greatly missed by his extensive Uplift family.
Celebration of his life will be held Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 11am at Staples Funeral Home 53 Brunswick Ave Gardiner. Burial will be later in the spring in the Oak Grove Cemetery Gardiner
