Tabytha Jean Hembree 16 of Pittston, Maine passed away Friday September 1, 2017 of injuries sustained in a car accident. She was surrounded by family.
Taby was born in San Diego, Ca. to Rodney (Woody) and Jennifer Hembree. She is the older sister to Alex 12, and Mackenna 7. She was a Junior at Gardiner Area High School and an honor student.
Taby was a Navy kid and moved several times between California, Washington State, Italy, and Maine. Taby loved to travel and experience new places.
Taby loved soccer from the time she first played at three years old. She spent countless hours playing and training on the pitch as a keeper. She played for CK United, Seacoast United Maine, Maine ODP as well as for her school teams. She was the starting Varsity Goalie at Gardiner Area High School since Freshman Year.
She was a member of the Gardiner / Halldale High School Swim Team lettering both Freshman and Junior Year.
Taby was active with drama participating with the Gardiner Middle School drama program first as a member of the cast and later in high school as a crew member where she became “Mama D’s right-hand girl.”
She had a special group of young people to travel with spiritually with the Saint Michaels High School Youth Ministry program.
She is Survived by Her parents Rodney and Jennifer Hembree, brother Alex, Sister Mackenna, Grandparents Jim and Jeanne Lothridge of Pittston, Auntie Jackie and Uncle Matt and cousins Aurora and Celeste of Perris, Ca. Auntie Nettes and Uncle Andrew and cousin Rylee of Troy, New York, Aunt Michelle Stover and Cousins Kayleb, Brett, and Madasyn Hembree of Oregon and countless cousins and friends.
Her greatest loves were God, Family, Soccer, Disney, and Drama!
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church in Gardiner, Maine Friday September 8th at 4:00pm.
