WINDSOR - Alice M. York died on December 10, 2017, in Augusta, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 66.
Alice was born on April 9, 1951, in Rockland.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ellsworth York; and her parents, Harry Roscoe and Eva Shaw. She is survived by her daughter, Althea Snowman, and her husband Arthur, of Windsor; and her stepson, Ellsworth Hanscom, of Windsor; her grandchildren, Jeremy Snowman, of Windsor; and Sarah Snowman and partner Lake Bellavance, of Yarmouth; and her special brother, Tim Roscoe, and wife Tammy, of Augusta. She is also survived by her special niece, Linda Moon, and husband Larry, of Guilford.
In life, she enjoyed crocheting, crafts, reading, and especially spending time with her family.
Family would like to thank Gray Birch and Hospice for all their support and care during her time there.
Staples Funeral Home is arranging her cremation, and burial next to her husband at Maine Veterans Cemetery, in Augusta. There will be no service.

In lieu of flowers, Alice wished for donations made to the Maine Cancer Foundation.

Below is her favorite poem:

I grow frail and weak
And pain should keep me
From my sleep,
You wouldn't want me to suffer so.
When the time comes,
Please, let me go.
You will be sad I understand,
But don't let grief
Then stay your hand,
For on this day, more than the rest,
Your love and friendship
Must stand the test.
We've been so close these years,
Don't let your heart
Hold any tears."
