Ann Stansbury Blouin, 75, of Pittston died April 16, 2018 at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Augusta Campus.
Ann was born in Anson, Maine on November 22, 1942, the daughter of Richard and Muriel Atwood Stansbury.
She attended high school in Richmond and later obtained her GED and a Certified Nurses Aid certificate from Kennebec Valley Vocational-Technical Institute in Waterville. Ann worked for many years at Williams Nursing Home in Augusta, now Glenridge-MaineGeneral Rehabilitation & Long Term Care. She had a wide and loving heart and cared deeply for all the residents. Ann retired in 1993 due to ill health.
Diabetic since the age of twelve she never let the disease stop her from enjoying life to the fullest.
Ann loved being with family, her many dogs over the years, shopping, Curves, the Hallmark Channel, word games and once retired, enjoyed making quilts for her family and friends and loved trips to Boothbay Harbor and Pemaquid.
She was a long time member of Winter Street Baptist Church in Gardiner where she volunteered for many years at Vacation Bible School and in the nursery.
She was a wonderful mother as voiced by Lisa and Craig and a loving wife to Bob for over fifty years of marriage.
Ann was predeceased by her mother and father, her step-father Ralph Knowles and her siblings Lorraine “Rainey” Knowles Varone, David Stansbury, Robert Stansbury and Arthur Knowles.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Blouin of Pittston, her son Craig Blouin of Augusta and his partner Michele Bernier of Farmingdale, daughter Lisa Blouin of Oakland, her daughter-in-law Rosa Blouin of Oakland and Rosa’s children, Bryce, James and Brittany, her granddaughters Ashley Blouin of Vassalboro, Amanda Blouin and her partner, Lance Cole of Oakland, grandson Jake Garand of Augusta, her great grandchildren, Dante and Kianna Hollingsworth of Oakland and great grandson Damien of Sangerville,
her sisters, Judy Wingate of Augusta, Leona Rodrigue and her husband, Don, of Augusta, Medora Hall of Prescott Valley, Arizona, her brothers, Daniel Knowles and his wife Sheila of Whitefield, Joseph Knowles and his partner, Violet Dalot of Belmont, her former daughter-in-law and friend Anna Bumps of Vassalboro, Carmen Murphy of Farmingdale adopted into our family as a sister, special friends Joanne O’Connor and Linda Peabody, nieces and nephews and her two beloved “puppies” Peanut and Snoopy.
A service for Ann will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Winter Street Baptist Church in Gardiner at 11:30 A. M. followed by a committal service at Maine Veterans Cemetery, Mt. Vernon Road in Augusta. Arrangements are under the care of Staples Funeral Home 53 Brunswick Ave Gardiner
