- About Us
Gerald “Jerry” Frank Dolley, 75, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Chelsea on January 26, 2018.
He was born on September 2, 1942 in Waterville. He was predeceased by his father Frank Dolley of Vassalboro and his mother Marjorie Crabtree and her husband Lincoln Crabtree of Augusta, his brothers Floyd Dolley of Auburn, CA and Douglass Dolley of Vassalboro.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years Dixie Dolley, his children Terry Dawson and her husband Richard, Brian Dolley and his wife Kristin, Jody Dolley, Jenna Dolley and her significant other Dana Guilmette. He was blessed with several grandchildren Jessica and her husband Sean, Michael and his significant other Audessa, Jacob, Samuel, Hunter, Preston, Austin, Addison, Brayden, a great-granddaughter Madelyne, and a niece Judy who had a special place in his heart.
He entered the workforce as an 18 year old working in a few different trades, ultimately finding his niche at the Joseph Kirschner Company where he retired after 40 years. A devoted family man, he was always ready to roll up a sleeve to help whenever needed, lend an ear, or offer his sage advice. He would often be found tinkering in his garage or yelling at the television while watching his favorite sports teams, the Red Sox and the Patriots. He gained a love of fishing and hunting from his mentor Lincoln. He enjoyed classic cars, his Ford F150 pick-up truck, and rarely missed an opportunity to study the Uncle Henry’s for a bargain.
He was a very loving, funny, and caring man who would do anything for his family. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who will be greatly missed.
Until we see you again.
It was Gerald’s wish that there be no visiting hours or service.
