Chamberlain- Guilford (Leo) Hannon, 98, of Chamberlain died Tuesday at the Marshwood Center in Lewiston. He was born in Augusta on August 21, 1919 a son of Walter and Alice (Pottle) Hannon.
He was a US Army veteran of World War II with service in the European African Middle Eastern Theatre.
Guilford had been employed for 34 years at Central Maine Power before his retirement in 1980.
He was a member of the Masonic Bethlehem Lodge in Augusta, Kora Shrine in Lewiston.
He was predeceased by his wife Florence Buckmore Hannon who died Dec. 24, 2001. He is survived by his daughter Rose Willett and her husband Richard, Jr of Clinton, his son Dale Hannon and wife Brenda of Sabattus, two grandchildren Jade and Shannon, eight great grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday, February 8th from 2 to 4 pm at Staples Funeral Home 53 Brunswick Ave Gardiner. Committal services with military honors will be held Friday, February 9th at 1pm in the chapel at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Mt. Vernon Rd in Augusta
