Gardiner-Hazel A Marquis, 88, of Gardiner born March 1, 1930 passed away March 8 at the Maine Veterans Home in Augusta. She worked in various nursing homes as a cook and shoe factories prior to her retirement. Following retirement she devoted her time at the local food bank. She would always say go while you can. She loved visiting with family and loved traveling especially her trips to Old Orchard beach. She had a wonderful sense of humor which made anyone smile.
She was predeceased by her husband Richard Merle Marquis, her parents Bessey Moody and Sylvain Moody, and her sisters, Frances Waterhouse, Helen Crocker, Grace Christie, Sylvia Machino and Mildred Robinson.
She is survived by her loving sons Richard marquis and wife Becky of Augusta, Kenneth Marquis and wife Laurie of West Gardiner, two brothers Ralph Moody of Gardiner and Calvin Moody of Florida and many grandchildren and great grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews.
At Hazel’s request there will be no funeral or visiting hours.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to your local food bank.
