- About Us
Jeffrey Allan Gilman of Gardiner Maine and proprietor of the Casco Bay Barber Shop passed away on March 14 at the age of 68 while visiting family in Kentucky. Jeff was a 35 year resident of Gardiner.
Jeff served in the Army during the Vietnam War and was a staunch supporter of our military and veterans. Jeff owned two local barber shops, most recently, the Casco Bay Barber Shop in Falmouth. Jeff’s shop was a place for much more than a haircut; it was a gathering spot where generations of men could share stories of family, sports, heroics and advice. A picture of the Vietnam Memorial hung in the shop as a reminder of the ultimate sacrifice made by the brave men who served in the military. It was a common occurrence to hear Jeff thanking a fellow veteran or law enforcement officer for their service. Jeff was always the model of patriotism and family values.
Jeff is survived by his wife of 47 years, Patricia. Jeff and Pat met as teenagers in Salisbury MA and eventually built a life in Gardiner with their 2 children, Jason Gilman of Lisbon Maine and Jeffrey Gilman of Louisville Kentucky. Jeff is also survived by his daughters-in-law, Michelle and Lena as well as four amazing grandchildren; Ashley, Cameron, Emma and Charlotte. Jeff was eternally devoted to his grandchildren and he felt honored to be a part of their lives. In addition, Jeff is survived by his brothers, Charles Gilman and Dale Gilman, as well as his sister, Denise Ackerman. In his free time; Jeff also liked to fish, ride his Harley and travel to warm places.
