Margaret (Peggy) Dumond, 64, passed away Oct. 23, 2017, at Maine General Medical Center.  She was born in Gardiner on June 6, 1953 the daughter of Raymond Sergent Sr. (Deceased) and Mary Gilson Sergent.  She grew up in Gardiner and graduated from Gardiner High School in 1971.  She then graduated from the Augusta Business School with an Associates Degree.

Peggy worked for Maine Motor Vehicle, Workmens Comp, Various Jobs in Florida. She was the Manager of the Randolph Redemption Center where she retired in 2016.

For many years she was involved in getting warm clothing for children through the American Legion in Gardiner.  You would see her and her mother out shopping for the items and then delivering them to homes and schools.

She is pre-deceased by Her Husband Joseph Dumond, Raymond Sergent Sr.; father, Ralph Gilson Sr. Uncle.

She leaves behind; mother, Mary Sergent, sister, Dotty Hinckley and her husband Pat, brother Raymond Sergent, Jr. and his wife Linda.  She also leaves behind her cousins, Roxanne, Gail Mike, Audrey, Marie, Tammy, Karen, Joel, Michael, and Jaimie who were like siblings growing up.   You could find all these cousins getting together many many times during the year.  Especially the family camping trip in New Hampshire.

She loved taking day trips around Maine with her late husband and her mother. They would hear about a great place in Maine and head out early on a Sunday to check it out.

A special “Thank You”, to the staff at the Harold Alfond Center for Cancer.

Visiting hours will be held Friday October 27, 2017 from 1:30 -3 pm at Staples Funeral Home 53 Brunswick Ave Gardiner immediately followed by a service at 3pm. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery Gardiner

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to the a Margaret Sergent Dumond Athletic Scholarship Fund  c/o Superintendent Office 150 Highland Ave Gardiner 04345
