Roderick William Beaulieu

February 11, 1956 – February 1, 2018

Roderick Beaulieu died unexpectedly of heart disease at his home in Farmingdale.  He overcame the developmental challenges of autistic spectrum disorder, was independent, kind-hearted, generous and deeply reflective.  After graduating from Hall-Dale High School in 1976 he pursued a career in retail sales.  He learned management principles at Bradlees Department Store in Haverhill, Massachusetts before moving to California to study computer science at Santa Barbara City College.  Roderick had a junior management role at Home Depot in Carlsbad, California and was floor manager at Boney’s Marketplace in Oceanside, California.  He returned to Farmingdale in semi-retirement and worked at a local restaurant.  He enjoyed science fiction films, cross-country road trips, computer electronics, bicycling, hiking in nature, cooking, gardening, Stephen King novels, and playing with his cats.  Roderick is preceded in death by his father, Oneil Beaulieu.  He is deeply missed by a large family: his mother Theresa Beaulieu of Augusta, five siblings, Ivan Beaulieu of Kennebunkport, Rose Curtis of Augusta, Clay Beaulieu of Blue Ridge, Virginia, Rodney Beaulieu of Fallbrook, California, and Jeannette Gray of Farmingdale, plus 10 nieces and nephews, Brian Beaulieu of Whitefield, Michaela George of Oceanside, California, Kristopher Curtis of Bowdoinham, Candace Beaulieu of Hammond, Florida, Andrea Eaton of Williston, Vermont, Jasmine Curtis of Portland, Julie Beaulieu of Pittsburg, and from Farmingdale, Chad Gray, Brett Gray, Andrew Gray.  A family celebration of Roderick’s life is planned for summer.
