Forest Brown, Sr. Obituary (1923 - 2008)

Whitefield --- Forest Brown, Sr., 85, of Hackensack, NJ and formerly of Whitefield passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2008 in Hackensack, N.J. Forest was born in Whitefield on May 4, 1923, a son of Nathan and Lucy Hassen Brown. When he was younger Forest worked in the woods of Maine until he moved to New Jersey in 1964. He was employed at a machine shop and most recently as a sexton of the Second Reform Church in Hackensack, until his sickness in 2007. He served in the US Army during World War II with service in the Asiatic Pacific Theater.He is survived by his wife, Grace Brown-Bartlett-Brown of Hackensack, NJ., his six children; Kathy Wolfert, Houston, Texas, Mary Mullens of Pittston, Me., Faye Joslyn of Windsor, ME., Hope Atwater of Farmingdale, ME., Forest Brown, Jr.of Augusta, ME., Vicki Overlock of Winthrop, Me., 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, 6 step children; Robert Bartlett of IL., Cynthia Miville of Chelsea, ME., James Bartlett of Windsor, ME., Wanda Mills of Whitefield, ME., Dana Bartlett of Portland, ME., Paul Bartlett of Lewiston, ME., 19 step grandchildren, 6 step great grandchildren, a sister, Lydia Scott of Whitefield, Me., and several nieces, nephews and cousins.Visiting hours will be held Thursday, June 26th from 6-9 pm at Staples Funeral Home 53 Brunswick Ave. Gardiner where a funeral service will be held Friday, June 27th at 11:30 am. Burial with military honors willfollow in the Whitefield Cemetery.
