Tanness Smith Obituary (1948 - 2013)

Tanness Smith, 65, of South Gardiner passed away Friday, Nov., 1, 2013 at home surrounded by her family. Tanness was born in Gardiner, ME on January 11, 1948, the daughter of Stacy and Dorothy Trask. She graduated from Gardiner High School in 1966. She worked at Robinson’s Nursing Home, followed by AMHI from 67-70, left and returned from 81-91 to the Greenlaw Unit as a CNA. She also worked at a local nursing home in Gardiner for 3 years. She was a member of the Congregational Church in her early and mid years. After retirement she joined the Gardiner 4 Leaf Clover Club. She enjoyed toy auctions, visiting grandchildren, shopping, and the Red Barn Restaurant. Tanness was predeceased by her grandparents William and Margarett Lamb, her parents Dorthery and Stacy Trask, a sister Alexis Trask, aunts Ruth Lamb, Marrian Hamland, and uncles Alex Lamb and Finny Hamland and half brother Donald Trask She is survived by her husband of 45 years David, son David, daughter April Smith, granddaughters Jasmine and Cheyenne York, her brother Terry Trask and half brothers, David Trask and Daniel Trask, cousin Barbara Madden, step mother Carolyn Trask, half sisters Linda Roy and husband Marshel, Cheryl Michaud and husband Jerry, Valerie Paul and husband John, step brother Tony Coco, half brother Timmy Trask and half sister Tina and husband Dave Boag, and several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be Wednesday November 6th from 4 to 7pm at Staples Funeral Home 53 Brunswick Ave Gardiner.
