Bath-Alan J. "Scooby" Edwards, 77, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2024 at Mid Coast Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in the summer of 1946, on August 2nd, Allen spent his sunny days in the beautiful town of Bath, Maine. His radiant spirit, courageous heart, and humble demeanor have left an indelible mark on those he loved and cherished.
Allen, known as "Scooby" to his close circle, was a man of many talents. His spirited nature was evident in his chosen profession in shipbuilding as a machinist. A loyal friend to all, he was known for his steadfast commitment to his work, where he masterfully maintained the integrity of the shipbuilding industry until his retirement. In his spare time he loved spending time at Bigelow Mountain where he would soak in the peacefulness of nature.
What mattered most to Allen were his friends. The bonds he forged were unbreakable, and his friendships were as deep as the ocean he loved. He was a beacon of light in the lives of those he touched. His courage was infectious, his spirit was inspiring, and his humility taught us all a lesson in grace.
His life, though it ended, continues to echo in the hearts of those he met. We invite you to celebrate Allen's life by sharing your memories, stories, and pictures of him on his memorial page. May his spirit continue to inspire us, and may his memory live on in our hearts. Arrangements are under the direction of Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Ave, Gardiner, ME
