1941 – 2022 RANDOLPH - Alden P. Glidden 81, of Randolph, died Saturday January 7, 2023, at home after a brief illness. Alden was born in Prentiss on September 13, 1941. The son of Lewis Glidden and Gertrude (Briggs) Dow and raised by his grandparents Bennie and Sadie Glidden. Alden loved to collect firearms and travel to gun shows throughout the State. His greatest tales came from his cross-country trip to Alaska. He loved to talk about all the old trucks and cars from over the years that he salvaged. He is predeceased by his Parents; Grandparents; Brother Lewis Glidden; two Sisters, Loretta (Glidden) Brinzow and Catherine (Glidden) Pelletier. Alden is survived by two brothers Greg Dow and wife Sally, Geoff Dow and wife Linda, and numerous nephews and nieces. Alden's visiting hours will be held on Thursday, January 12th, from 4-7 pm, at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Avenue, Gardiner. A Spring private committal will be held in Belden Cemetery, Prentiss, Maine. The family would like to thank his hospice aids Rhonda, Bobbi and Bryttni for their special care for Alden.
