Armand Provost Obituary (1945 - 2019)

PITTSTON - Armand Pierre Provost, of Pittston, Maine, passed away at home on January 1, 2019, at the age of 73. He was born in Manchester, New Hampshire on February 1, 1945, the son of Henri and Irene (Marcoux) Provost. Armand worked for over thirty-five years for Associated Grocers of Gardiner, Maine. He is predeceased by his parents; son, David Provost, and a brother, Marc Provost. Armand was the beloved husband of his wife Maureen (Crounse Brown) of Pittston. He was a loving father to his children, two daughters, Cyndi Galusha, of Winthrop; Pam Mancine and son-in-law Jason Mancine, of Jay; daughter-in-law Elizabeth Provost, of Gorham; He was also a loving stepfather to, Kathleen Nichols and husband Jeff, of Upton, MA., Shauna Fontaine and husband Chris, of Norton, MA., Shannon Gaudet and husband Ryan, of Stoughton, MA., Armand was formerly married to Janet Provost of Augusta, Maine. He loved being “Pepere” to his seven grandchildren, his great-grandson, and his seven step-grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, January 7th, from 4:00PM to 7:00PM, at Staples Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 53 Brunswick Avenue, Gardiner, Maine. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, January 8th, at 10:00AM, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Gardiner, burial will follow at 1:30PM at Evergreen Cemetery, Stevens Avenue, Portland.
