WHITEFIELD - Arthur Joseph Peters, 86, of Whitefield, Maine, formerly of Guilford, CT, died peacefully at home just as he wanted it with his devoted wife of 62 yrs., Nancy, by his side on April 14, 2020 after a long battle with health issues. Art was born in East Haven, CT on August 24, 1933, son of the late Theodore G, Peters, Sr., and Catherine Pochodowicz Peters. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married Nancy Thomas Peters in 1957 and built a home in Guilford CT where he raised his 4 children and lived for 53 years. He was the father of Wendy (Matthew) Harris, Arthur A. (Lori) Peters and Ronald Ralph Peters, and was predeceased by daughter, Kathy King. He leaves 6 grandchildren, Cassandra King, Gregory Peters, Corey King, Jeffery Peters, Mattie Harris and Allie Peters and 4 great grandchildren. Art enjoyed camping with his family and friends throughout New England, clamming in Rhode Island, hunting in Vermont & Maine, fishing and boating on the Connecticut shoreline and just being outdoors. He will be remembered with a small gathering and celebration of his life in Guilford, CT at a later date.
