Obituary

Barbara Ellen Houldlette Shorette 10/25/1930 – 08/22/2022 Our mother, 91, took her last breath here on earth, and opened her eyes in Heaven with Jesus, on Monday, August 22, 2022. All six of us siblings were honored to be sitting around her bed. Many times, she mentioned to each of us "Oh how I want to see my Jesus". Our mother had a very close, personal relationship with the Lord. Each morning she would sit and read her Bible and devotionals. She faithfully attended, and was very involved at Grace Bible church of Gorham, until she was not able to anymore. Our mother was a registered nurse. She worked many years at Gardiner General in Gardiner Maine. After retiring from nursing, she taught CRMA classes up until 2 years ago. She loved her flower gardens and any rock that caught her eye. One of her favorite places to go was "up to the county". Any excuse she could find to go, she would. She met, and still has many friends from there. Trips to the ocean were high on her lists of favorites. We're sure, getting to Heaven, she was most excited to see her husband Ted Shorette and son Sammy Shorette who went before her. We, her children, Beth Shorette of Dresden, Emmy Young and her husband Bob of Dover Foxcroft, Sarah Hall and her husband Don of Dresden, Harold Shorette and his wife Karinna of Brunswick, Ted Shorette and his partner Susie of Rockland, Willie Towle and his wife Terrie of Dresden, her grandchildren Joshua, Jared, Serena, Candice, Caitlin, Trevor, Willie, Adam, Heidi, Tiffany, and Dominic and all 17 great grandchildren have been honored and more than blessed to have had her as our mother. She'll also be missed by "Sista",many nieces and nephews, and too many friends to count. Until we see you again, our dear mother, fly high you've done yourself proud! Arrangements are entrusted with Staples Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 53 Brunswick Avenue, Gardiner, Maine. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared with the family on the obituary page of the Staples Funeral Home website, www.staplesfuneralhome.com
