WEST GARDINER - Beverly Ann (Golden) Fish of West Gardiner, Maine was called home to her Lord and Savior unexpectedly on Monday, November 6, 2023.
Beverly was born October 22, 1949, in Gardiner, the daughter of John Frederick and Lyda Mary (Downs)
Golden.
Bev grew up in Augusta and loved to tag along with her brothers hitching a ride to Gardiner on the train.
She graduated from Cony High School and attended the University of Maine at Augusta. One of her
favorite jobs amongst many was her position as Librarian at the Maine State Library. During that time,
she loved bringing home the film projector and letting us stay up late to watch the movie she brought.
One of our favorite movies was Green Eggs and Ham.
She was known for being the fun and crazy Aunt. But underneath was a loving, compassionate and
caring mother, and friend to all. She was also a free spirit who never really settled down until she finally
met Rick Grasse, her life partner of 30 years who grounded her and she loved dearly.
Bev loved painting, playing cards with friends, going to the casinos, and visiting her brother and sister-inlaw.
She is survived by her partner Richard Grasse of West Gardiner; four children Robert Leo Michaud, Jr.
of Pittston, Ann-Marie (Michaud) McFarland of Augusta, Dena-Lee (Michaud) Shorey and her husband
Brian Shorey of Whitefield, and John Michael Michaud of Richmond. She is also survived by her
grandchildren Kyle, Robert, Cameron, Sean and Evan Michaud, Mason Darveau, and Danara-Mae
Millington, her great granddaughter Ellie Michaud and great grandson Nathan Michaud. She is also
survived by her brothers Jerry and Douglas Golden, many nieces, nephews and cousins, her ex-husband
Robert Michaud Sr., his wife and Bev's friend Patricia Michaud, her longest and dearest friend Kathy
Berry Bolduc, as well as the large Grasse clan.
Beverly is predeceased by her father John Frederick Golden, mother Lyda Mary (Downs) Golden, 10
brothers John, Freddie, Jimmy, Vincent, Robert, Victor, Eugine, Wilton, Wendell, and Dennis, plus two
sisters Ellen and Alice in addition to her very special sister-in-law Sue Golden.
There will be no funeral services, however in memory of the free spirit Beverly was, there will be a
celebration of life which will be announced at a later date.
