Obituary

1928 - 2022 BLANCHARD, TWP. - Beverly Arline (Plummer) Garland, daughter of Clinton and Thelma (Hallowell) Plummer, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2022, at the C A Dean Hospital in Greenville, Maine. She was born in Windsor, ME, on August 25th, 1928. Beverly graduated from Cony High School (1947) and Cosmetology School in Lewiston, ME (1948). Beverly married Everett Garland in 1948 and were married 27 years. They raised three children, and who she was predeceased by, Everett Jr., (1967), Jane Garland Graham of Greenville (2005) and Carol Garland Stevens (2015) of Richmond. She is survived by three grandchildren, Everett Scott Smith and wife Kathleen, of Scottsdale, AZ, Amanda Simko and husband John of Greenville, Julie Graham of Greenville; five great grandchildren, Ashley Simko, Katelyn Smith, Everett Grady Smith, Caroline Graham, Sam Simko, and Chris Simko; two sons-in-law, Eric Stevens of Richmond, and Sparky Graham of Greenville, and special friend Bunny Knight. Beverly and her husband owned and operated the Hallowell Press for fourteen years. After selling the Press they retired to Blanchard where she enjoyed gardening and spending time in Florida for the winters at Lake Panakoffe. For many years Beverly entertained family and friends in her home at the foot of Russell Mountain. The beauty of the land was only surpassed by the love she shared with all who knew her. Family will always remember her as Grammie and G.G. (Great Grammie). Family and friends alike will remember her as the matron on the mountain, who shared her love for Blanchard and all those who visited. Memorial Donations can be made to the Monson Community Church, 19 Greenville Rd, Monson, ME 04406. At Beverly's request there will be no funeral, graveside or visiting hours. Burial will take place beside her husband and son at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Gardiner. Arrangements are entrusted with Staples Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 53 Brunswick Avenue, Gardiner, Maine.
