1944 – 2023 FARMINGDALE – Charles Gary Doyle, 78, passed away peacefully in his sleep from lung cancer on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at Togus Springs Hospice Facility.

He was born in Los Angeles, California, on May 28, 1944, the son of William Jennings Doyle and Thelma Catherine (Byrne) Doyle.

A patient and godly man known for his wit and quiet wisdom, Gary was a loving and devoted husband, father, papaw, and friend.

He was predeceased by his parents, William and Thelma, and siblings, Lola, Dick, and Daryl.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Joretta; son, Jared; daughter-in-law, Brianna; and two adorable granddaughters, Afton and Amaya. Arrangements are entrusted with Staples Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 53 Brunswick Avenue, Gardiner, Maine.
