Rumson, NJ- Christine Day Sutton, 77, formerly of Rumson, NJ, Temple, ME and Gardiner, ME died on Thursday, September 26, 2024 of natural causes.
Christine was born on June 24, 1947, in Long Branch, NJ the daughter of the late James W. and Emily (Parmly) Day. She attended local schools in New Jersey and graduated from Rumson-Fair Haven High School in the class of 1966. She continued her education in nursing and began her career at Monmouth Medical Center on the Pediatric unit.
On August 3, 1979, she married Keith Sutton in Fair Haven, New Jersey. They continued to make their home and raise their family in New Jersey.
Christine spent most of her working career in Home Health. She worked for forty plus years providing home care to the sick and elderly. Christine was very proud of the care she provided to countless people including caring for many of her own family members. She was a devoted wife and mother who cared for her mother and grandmother.
Following retirement, Keith and Christine, after spending many vacations in Maine, decided to make it their home, settling in Temple, ME. She loved antiquing and going to garage and yard sales. She loved sunrises and spending time at the beach, combing for sea glass and visiting lighthouses. She loved baking blueberry muffins and chocolate chip cookies. The greatest joy of her life was being able to reconnect with her son and meet her grandchildren. It filled her heart with joy and peace.
Christine was predeceased by her brother, James Day. She is survived by her loving husband, Keith Sutton of Gardiner; two daughters, Emily Sutton of Gardiner, Sarah Sutton, Gardiner; a son, Theodore Bradford and his wife Gillian Haney of Boston; two grandchildren, Alethea Bradford and Phoebe Bradford; a sister, Lynne and her husband Walter Oakden of NC; a sister in law, Mary Lou Day of FL; many treasured nieces and nephews.
