1971 – 2021

WEST GARDINER – Corey J. Chapman, 50, of West Gardiner, Maine, passed away Sunday, November 21, 2021, at the Alfond Center for Health, in Augusta following declining health.

He was born in Lewiston, Maine on March 25, 1971, the son of Gordon and Jane (Nightly) Chapman. He was a Foreman for many years at St. Peter Cemetery and later on worked at Clark Marine. He and his family owned and operated Chapman’s Auto Sales in West Gardiner where he enjoyed spending time with his father “Sonny” working on vehicles. He enjoyed Bluegrass music and spent many summers camping with his family at Whites Beach Campground during the Bluegrass Festival. He loved his family and was endlessly proud of his children.

He was predeceased by his father, Gordon “Sonny” Chapman.

Corey is survived by his mother, Jane Chapman, of Pittston; a son, Jedidiah Chapman, of Augusta; a daughter, Sarah Batres and her husband Joshua, of Fountain, CO; two grandsons, Braxdin Chapman and Oliver Batres; a brother, Chris and his wife Kathy of Randolph; and a brother, Jeff and his wife Valerie of West Gardiner.

A graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 30th at 1:00 pm, at the Cherry Hill Cemetery, High Street, West Gardiner.
