1927 - 2023 GARDINER -Corinne H. (Connie) Dionne of Gardiner, died Saturday, March 11, 2023, with her son and daughter-in-law by her side at the Alfond Center for health in Augusta. Born in Milbridge, Maine on June 21, 1927, the daughter of the late David & Marjorie Leighton. She Graduated from Gardiner High School and the Kennebec School of Commerce. She was predeceased by her husband, Philip J. Dionne who died in 1998. She was a lifetime member in the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, a member of the Four-Leaf Clover Senior Citizens Club, a State Retiree from the Department of Human Services and a member of AARP. She was also a Member of St Joseph's Catholic Church. She was predeceased by her husband Philip Dionne, and brother Spencer Leighton. She is survived by one son, Norman & wife Rita of Vermont; grandchildren Elizabeth Dionne of Vermont, Laura Rooney of Mississippi, Ted Dionne & wife Kasia of Vermont, and John Dionne and wife Grace of Vermont; eight great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 22, at 10:00 am, at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Avenue, Gardiner, a private spring burial beside her husband will be held in St. Joseph Cemetery, in Gardiner.
