Obituary

1958 - 2022 FARMINGDALE – Daniel Francis Puffer, 64, of Farmingdale, ME, went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 20, 2022. Dan was born in Malden, Massachusetts on April 28, 1958, the son of Chester A. Puffer Jr. and Edith L. (Mattison) Puffer. Dan was previously employed by Fuller's Market in West Gardiner and actively involved with the Cobbossee Center in Gardiner. Dan loved spending time with his beloved sister, Irene, brother-in-law Ron (aka Gumby and some other select names we cannot mention), niece Brenda and her husband Shep and their family, and nephew Jason and his family. Dan was infatuated with all things related to police officers, firefighters, and paramedics. Dan enjoyed attending GAHS sporting events and was the biggest fan of his great nephew, Keith. He loved animals and enjoyed camping, dancing, bowling, and swimming. He also enjoyed drawing, coloring, listening to music and participating in the Special Olympics. Dan gave the best hugs, had a huge heart, was very loving and caring, and could be just a tad bit stubborn. Dan taught his family way more than we ever could have taught him. Dan was a true blessing to all who were lucky enough to know him. He was pre-deceased by his parents Chester A. Puffer Jr. and Edith L. Puffer as well as by two brothers, Chester Puffer III, and Richard Kocincki and three sisters Lorraine Pennington, Madelyn Long and Joanne Green. Dan is survived by his sister and her husband, Irene and Ronald Gillaspie, and Brutus (the family dog) of Farmingdale, ME and several nieces, nephews, and friends. He will be missed greatly and will live on in our hearts forever. The family would like to thank the staff at 222 Northern Avenue in Farmingdale and the staff at Uplift Inc. in Gardiner for their tremendous care of Dan over the years. At the request of the family, there will be no services. For those who wish, donations in Dan's memory can be made to the Northern Avenue Group Home, C/O Uplift Inc., PO Box 1106, Gardiner, ME 04345. Arrangements are entrusted with Staples Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 53 Brunswick Avenue, Gardiner, Maine. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared with the family on the obituary page of the Staples Funeral Home website, www.staplesfuneralhome.com
