Gardiner- Daniel R. Stebbins, 67, died unexpectedly of natural causes on Sunday, October 27, 2024 at his home. Daniel was born in Augusta, Maine on July 17, 1957, the son of the late Murray E. and Marie P. (Buckley) Stebbins. He attended local schools and graduated from Gardiner High School in the class of 1975. Daniel worked for Yorktown Paper Mill for many years before moving to Florida for 10 years where he worked as a surveyor. Returning to Maine, Daniel worked several different jobs surveying before going to work for Maine Drilling & Blasting a position he held for 10+ years before retiring. He was and avid sports fan, loved Dallas Cowboys and all of the New England Sports teams. He enjoyed NASCAR, and loved spending time at the beach and being outdoors. Family reunions and gatherings, being surrounded by family, were all very special times for him. Daniel will be remembered as a very kind person who was always willing to help others. Daniel was predeceased by a sister, Nancy Stebbins; brother, Michael Stebbins. He is survived by a sister, Jane Stebbins of Gardiner; nephew Kevin Stebbins, Gardiner; niece, Crystal Chick of Greenville and her son Zachary, Karen Takatsu and her husband Luke and their children Taylor & Molly, Jordan Stebbins and his wife Ellie and their daughter Macie; sister in law, Donna Stebbins of Gardiner; many loving cousins At the family's request all services will be private.
