1936 – 2022
RANDOLPH – Dawn M. McGee, 86, of Randolph, Maine and Dunedin Florida, passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on Friday, April 8th, 2022.
She was born in Gardiner, Maine, on January 10, 1936, the daughter of Oliver and Maybelle (Baker) Drisko. She spent fifty happy adventurous years with her husband Austin G. McGee.
Dawn spent many years of her career caring for the elderly as a C.N.A. and finished as a medical technician. She was passionate about her work and was publicly recognized for the phenomenal care she provided.
Our matriarch was warm and welcoming to all family, friends and strays. Her beautiful blue eyes, bright smile and warm enveloping hugs brought comfort to all who knew her. She was an avid animal lover. Her favorite pastimes were knitting, dancing, gardening, and family. We have fond memories of evenings at camp around the campfire singing and telling stories. Camp was her happy place. She cherished her time there and all were welcomed. She was the lead lifeguard and supervisor of all camp projects and activities.
She is survived by her four daughters Marilyn Twitchell, Jackie McGee & husband Jack Robertson, Kelly McGee & husband Tom Sparrow, Lisa McGee & husband Allan Hynes. Grandchildren Kalem, Brian, Cortany, Jake, Shawn, Dawn Elizabeth, Dylan, Jaime, Nikki, John, Julie & Justin and twenty one great grandchildren. Sisters-in-law Donna Cole Rose and Lynn Beaulieu and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; Husband Austin McGee; Siblings Faith Stultz & Ronald Drisko and great grandson Austin Eichler.
There will be a memorial service on Saturday May 7th at 11am at Life Community Church, 46 Church St, Gardiner with a celebration of life immediately following at her home, 355 Windsor St, Randolph.
