RANDOLPH - Dean Raymond Luro, known to all as Dean, born in Bangor, Maine, on January 19, 1946, the son of Judson and Nina (Jones) Luro, passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2026, at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta, Maine, at the age of 80.
Dean was a resident of Randolph, Maine, where he spent most of his life brightening the lives of those around him with his funny and witty charm. He was a hardworking individual who spent many years as a manager in the heating oil business before his retirement. Even after retirement, his lively spirit never dimmed, and he continued to bring laughter and joy to those around him.
Dean had a passion for fishing, a hobby that brought him immense joy. The tranquility of the water, the thrill of the catch, and the intricacies of the sport were a few of the many aspects that captivated him. His friends and family will always remember him as an avid fisherman who could spend hours on end by a river or lake, a fishing rod in his hand and a witty quip on his lips.
Dean is survived by his son, Mark Luro and wife Kristin, of Murrieta, CA; and three grandchildren Kaitlyn, Sheradyn, and Logan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Judson and Nina Luro; two sisters Joan and Diane.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at Staples Funeral Home, located at 53 Brunswick Ave, Gardiner, Maine, 04345. A graveside service will take place on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 1:00 pm at Pine Grove Cemetery, located at 1350 Hammond Street, Bangor, Maine.
Dean's life was filled with laughter, wit, and a love for the outdoors.
