Obituary

Chelsea-Deanna Morton Pease, born on August 5, 1941, in Bangor, Maine, to Louise and Robert Morton, passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 24, 2026.

Deanna built a dedicated career, beginning as a key punch operator at Bangor Hydro and ultimately retiring as a key punch supervisor at Central Maine Power. Outside of her professional life, she was vibrant and active. She enjoyed her time on the Bangor Hydro Ladies bowling team and always cherished the highlight of taking her niece, Jeannie, to see Elvis Presley perform in Augusta. Deanna also belonged to a sewing group, generously volunteered her time at Fiber College, and shared her love for music by performing in the band “A Touch of Country” alongside Norman and Bob.

Deanna faced life’s challenges with remarkable resilience. Widowed at a young age after the passing of her first husband, she courageously navigated life as a single mother, raising two boys under the age of six. Though she could be slightly overprotective at times, she managed beautifully and is remembered by her family as the kindest, nicest lady they have ever known.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louise and Robert Morton; her sisters, Joanne Lancaster and her husband Paul, and Barbara Farrah and her husband Ken; her first husband, Anton L. Lawrence Sr.; her second husband, Norman T. Pease; and, with profound sorrow, her beloved son, Paul Pease.

Deanna’s legacy of love lives on through her surviving family. She is survived by her sons: Daniel Pease, Bob Pease and his wife Karen, Anton Lawrence Jr. and his wife Sandra, and Gary Lawrence. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Zachary and his wife Kelly, Josh and his wife Andrea, Katelyn, Danny, Brian, Lauren, Amanda, Stacy, Alex and his wife Kat, Trey and his fiancé Alysia, Noah, Mason, and Grace; and a doting great-grandmother to Madison, Haley, Danny, Emily, Tommy, Brian, Michael, Brayden, Sophie, Theodore, August, and Fable. She also leaves behind her dear friends Joan, Emma, Trudy, Daughter In-law Cindy, and Dale and Gloria Walker who will forever cherish her memory.

A graveside service will be held at Putnam Cemetery off Route 126 in Pittston on Monday, August 3, 2026, at 11:00 AM. Arrangements and guidance are under the direction of Staples Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 53 Brunswick Ave, Gardiner, ME.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice that combats memory loss, such as the Alzheimer's Association or the BrightFocus Foundation, to help fight this disease in Deanna's memory.
