Obituary

SOUTH CHINA - Dennis Andrew King, Sr., born on March 3, 1935, in Bangor, Maine, was a man of charming charisma and an adventurous spirit who journeyed to the next life on December 30, 2024. Dennis wore many hats in his lifetime - a dedicated truck driver for the State of Maine - DOT, a loving husband, a compassionate father, a lifetime member of the VFW, and a funny friend who could always lighten the mood. His adventurous nature was evident in his love for fishing, hunting, camping, and exploring the great outdoors. A skilled craftsman, Dennis also found joy in woodworking and gardening, creating beauty and order wherever he went. Dennis was a man who treasured his roots and celebrated his life in Maine, from his birthplace in Bangor to his last residence in South China. His journey also led him to Hermon, where he left his mark before returning to South China. Dennis was an enduring beacon of love and resilience, always placing his family and friends at the heart of his world. His laughter was infectious, his stories captivating, and his life a testament to the power of love, friendship, and the human spirit. Dennis leaves behind a beautiful legacy, carried forward by his loving wife Idona King, his son Robert (Jo) Pierce, his brother Robert King, and his daughter-in-law Wendy King; eight grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. He joins his son Dennis Jr., his parents Herbert and Cecelia King, in the eternal embrace of peace.
