Obituary

1958 – 2022 PITTSTON – Donald Albert Stuart, 64, of Pittston, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 9th, 2022. Donnie was born on April 5th, 1958 in Augusta, Maine, the son of Pearl and Hester (Crawford) Stuart. He grew up in Randolph, graduating from Gardiner Area High School in 1976. He then went on to study at Kennebec Valley Technical College, graduating in 1981. Donnie had a very successful career as a millwright and machinist, including running his own company, Precision Maintenance Incorporated, for a period of time. Donnie received many advanced certifications throughout his career. He was a proud member of the Local 1121 Millwright's Union and was highly respected by his peers as an expert in his profession; working at various mills and plants including Maine Yankee, Jay Mill, and traveling the country working for Siemens through the Union. Throughout his career he formed many lifelong friendships with his peers. Donnie always enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He had three beautiful children with Karen Campbell and two amazing grandchildren whom his world revolved around and filled his heart. Holidays were always a special time in the Stuart household and were a time to spend with family. Donnie enjoyed family vacations to Spring Lake, Moosehead, Rangeley, and many others. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing – open water and ice, hiking, and snowmobiling. He spent most summer weekends racing his 04 stock car at Wiscasset Speedway and loved traveling with his family to various racing events throughout the country. He went skydiving multiple times at Skydive Coastal Maine and fulfilled a dream by jumping over the Grand Canyon. Donnie prided himself on creating new memories and experiencing new adventures with his family. His family meant everything to him. Donnie is survived by his daughters, Samantha Stuart, Miranda Crocker (Stuart) and her husband, Casey Crocker, and son, Matthew Stuart. He is also survived by his granddaughter, Blakely Crocker, and grandson, Bennett Crocker. As well as his grand puppies: Ryleigh, Memphis, Dozer and Turbo. He was also survived by many cousins including Raymond, Dean, Brad, and Wayne Stuart, along with many friends and coworkers who were like family to him. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, November 25, 2022 from 4pm-7pm at Staples Funeral Home, 53 Brunswick Avenue, Gardiner. A graveside funeral service and burial will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 11am at Oak Grove Cemetery, 38 Plummer Street, Gardiner, Maine. A celebration of Donald's life will be held at the Pittston Fairgrounds follow at 1pm. Arrangements are entrusted with Staples Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 53 Brunswick Avenue, Gardiner, Maine.
