WINDSOR - It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy “Dottie” Blanche McCollor, 62 of Windsor and formerly of Farmingdale, who departed this world on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at MaineHealth – Maine Medical Center in Portland after a sudden medical event. Dorothy, a cherished soul with a heart of gold, was a beacon of kindness and love throughout her life.

Born on December 20, 1963, in Gardiner, Maine, the daughter of Grover White Crawford and Trudy W. Hinckley.

Dottie spent her formative years growing up in Gardiner and Farmingdale. She embraced life with a spirit of warmth and generosity, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Dorothy's family was the center of her universe, and she cherished every moment spent with them, embodying a true family mentality in all her endeavors. Her love for people was as vast as her compassion, and she approached every interaction with an open heart.

Dottie dedicated many years of her professional life to serving her community. She worked as a clerk in the retail industry, with notable roles at Gardiner & Farmingdale Dunkin, Randolph IGA, and Community Pharmacy. Beyond her professional contributions, Dorothy was deeply committed to nurturing the next generation. For many years, she served as a Girl Scout leader, imparting valuable lessons of courage and strength to countless young girls. Her dedication to volunteerism showcased her selfless nature and her desire to make a positive impact on the lives around her.

She was a woman of many passions. She found great joy, tending to her beautiful flower gardens and expressed her nurturing spirit through her love for cooking. Her home was often filled with the aroma of delicious meals, shared with loved ones. A true animal lover, she had a special place in her heart for all creatures, especially her Chihuahua Hunny. Dorothy was also known for her sharp wit and resourcefulness, particularly her exceptional couponing skills, which allowed her to procure items for next to nothing. She cherished spending time with her friends, her laughter and companionship as a source of great joy.

Dottie is survived by her loving mother, Trudy W. Hinckley, of Windsor; daughter, Ashley McCollor; sister, Rhonda Caouette Labbe and husband Tim of Windsor; brother-in-law, Victor Hoover, of Florida; aunt, Donna Hinckley of Manchester; two cousins, Raymond Hinckley and wife Lisa of West Gardiner and Kimberly Keezer and husband Gary or Vassalboro; and a niece Carol Caoutte Labbe of Windsor.

She is reunited in eternal rest with her beloved husband, Todd Alan McCollor; father, Grover White Crawford; brother, James “Bo” White Peary, and an uncle, Raymond Hinckley.

Her legacy of love and devotion will continue to live on through her family. The annual family barbecue was a highlight of Dorothy's year, a time for gathering, laughter, and creating lasting memories.

Per Dottie’s wishes there will be no services.
