WINTHROP - Dwight G. Pineo, 45, of Winthrop, Maine passed away peacefully on November 7, 2025. He was the son of Candace and Bruce Pineo of Chelsea, Maine. He graduated from Gardiner Area High School class of 98'.
His career started as a press operator with Augusta Print Shop and J.S. McCarthy. In 2001 he started his career with the United States Army and National Guard. He proudly served his country from 2001-2024. The Army/National Guard gave him the adventurous career he sought. He served two tours of duty in Iraq and one in Afghanistan. He retired in 2024 as a 1st Sargent.
His proudest moment was becoming a dad to his daughter Evelyn. He was the happiest spending time with her weather on an adventure or cuddling on the couch. He loved boating, skiing, 4 wheeling and many other outdoor activities. He lived life to the fullest seeking out the next adventure.
He was a leader, teacher and listener to all he encountered. He had a kind, loving, caring, soul who was always willing to lend a hand. He looked for the good in others always willing to offer a second. Chance. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
He is survived by his mother Candace Pineo of Chelsea. His daughter Evelyn Pineo of Winthrop/ Minot. His sister Andrea Larrabee, her husband Jon and children Maddy and Cole of Derry New Hampshire. His sister Kristin Nichols, her husband Nate and their children Emmalin, Bryson, Braxton and Edison of Farmingdale. His grandmother Carol Moffatt of Randolph as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends.
He was predeceased by his father Bruce Pineo of Chelsea. His grandparents Robert and Elsie Judkins of Augusta as well as his dog and best buddy Ranger.
There will a service to celebrate his life on November 17, 2025 at 12:00 at the Armory in Augusta Maine. Burial will follow at the Maine Veteran's Cemetery on Mt. Vernon Rd, Augusta.
Arrangements and guidance are in the care of Staples Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 53 Brunswick Avenue, Gardiner, Maine.
