AUGUSTA-Frederick “Fred” E. Markham, 66, of Augusta died Friday, December 22, 2023 at Alfond Center for Health in Augusta.

Fred was born June 1, 1957 in Augusta the son of Ernest John and Helen Ruth (Durgen) Markham.

He was educated in Chelsea and Halldale schools and worked for the City of Augusta as a Custodian for over 30 years and then later for Cives Steel.

Fred enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors, and watching Western movies. Most importantly, he cherished the time spent with his grandson.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Markham, daughter Kelly Markham, stepson Michael Alexander, all of Augusta and grandson Nicholas Markham, of Bridgton.

There will be no services at this time.
