Obituary

On October 18, 2022, Gail Cynthia (Linton)Roberts of Farmingdale, Maine was called home by the Lord. She died peacefully surrounded by her loving family. She graced the world with her beautiful presence for 81 years. Gail's beloved husband Howard welcomed her to heaven with open arms. Gail is survived by her four children Margaret Williams and her husband Tim of Sharon, MA, Beth Roberts of Farmingdale, ME, Cynthia Roberts and her partner Fred Mulheron of Bangor, ME and Mike Roberts and his wife Nicole of North Andover, MA. She was predeceased by her infant son Martin and her infant grandson Nicholas. Gail was the loving Grammie to Martin, Christopher, Gordon, Loren, Abigail, Taylor, and Leyla, as well as their spouses and significant others. She was also the beloved "GiGi" to her great grandchildren Riley and Samantha. She is survived by her best friend/sister Glenda Fletcher and her husband Ronnie of Manchester, ME. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents and sister Sandy. Gail was born on October 30, 1940 in Litchfield, Maine. She graduated from Litchfield Academy and went on to attend Gordon College. Gail was married to Howard Roberts for over 40 years prior to his passing in 2007. They met at the Litchfield Baptist Church where he was the pastor. They married in 1961 and Gail became the doting mother of Howard's young daughters. Gail and Howard travelled where the Lord led them to parishes in Steep Falls, East Millinocket, Perham, Winterport and East Corinth. They welcomed their daughter Cynthia and son Michael while in East Millinocket and their family was complete. They settled in Farmingdale upon Howard's retirement. In her later years, Gail split her time between Farmingdale, Maine and Holiday, Florida. Gail was known for her contagious smile and joyous laugh. She brightened any room that she entered. She exemplified what it meant to live a Christian life. Her truest passion was to serve the Lord. She lived a life of service and prayer. Gail worked tirelessly for her church. She was a deacon, sat on numerous committees including the pulpit and flower committees, taught Sunday school, and led prayer groups and Bible studies. Besides being a mother and Pastor's wife, she held many jobs to help the family of 6 make ends meet. Gail had started selling Tupperware part time and became one of the top sellers nationally. She loved working with kids. She ran a daycare center and worked in the school system as a resource teacher helping kids that needed personalized attention. She loved puzzles, knitting socks, visiting estate sales and hooking wool rugs. A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Sunday, October 23rd at 2:00pm at the Litchfield Plains Baptist Church. The family will hold a visiting hour prior to the service starting at 1:00 at the church. The service will be immediately followed by a graveside burial across from the church. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Litchfield Plains Baptist Church.
