Farmingdale-God called GariLu Weeks to her home in heaven early Sunday morning, October 13, 2013 after a 45 year struggle with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. GariLu was born November 7, 1963 at Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane, Washington.She graduated from Hall-Dale High School in 1982 and then attended Reformed Bible College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. GariLu enjoyed volunteering her time in the Archive Room at the Gardiner Library where she helped many people discover their family geneology.GariLu was also a member of the Gardiner Library Association Board and the Farmingdale Historical Society.GariLu was a wonderful painter and artist as well.One of the most beautiful things about her was her strong faith in Jesus.GariLu shared her faith with all and was a beloved member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. She is pre-deceased by both sets of grandparents, Harold and Doris Weeks and Bert and Eleanor Haglund, as well as two uncles, Robert and Lloyd Haglund. GariLu is survived by her parents, Gary and Luella Weeks, her sisters Kathryn Marseglia (Paul) and Arlene McVety (Joseph), and her brother Bill.She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Amanda Lyons (Chris), Dan Weeks (Anita), Wiley and Jake McVety, and Nate, Maggie, and Zack Marseglia. GariLu will be greatly missed by her loving and faithful Corgi companion, Athena. Service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at Lighthouse Baptist Church at 108 Maple Street, Farmingdale, Maine.A reception at the church will follow the service.
