GARDINER - Gerald "Lee" Harvey II, 68 of Gardiner, loving husband of Shirley and second father to Greg and Nicole, passed peacefully in his sleep after a brief illness on Jan. 15, 2022, surrounded by his loved ones.
Lee was born Dec. 3, 1953, in Bangor, ME, the son of Gerald and Lorraine (Quirion) Harvey.
Lee and his family moved from Bangor to Hallowell where he graduated from Hall-Dale High School. He went on to receive his Associates Degree from the University of Maine, in Augusta. He worked at the Department of Motor Vehicle for several years. After leaving the DMV he graduated from the Maine Criminal Justice Academy in June of 1989. Lee held many positions in Law Enforcement starting as a dispatcher for the State Police and the City of Gardiner and he also was a private investigator for the State of Maine from 1989-2003. Lee worked for the Cities of Lisbon, Gardiner, and Augusta as a police officer, retiring from Augusta in 1998. He then started his own business Webmaine.Net providing support to many non- profit agencies including Family Violence Project in Augusta and various other agencies. Lee then worked for Carbonite for a number of years.
Lee received many certificates and awards. One outstanding award was saving the life of a citizen in July 1987.
He enjoyed riding a motorcycle and was part of the Blue Knights. A special part of his life was being a member of the band Aces & Eights, whom he considered family. This country band performed together for 13 years across the State of Maine at various bottle clubs, festivals, and fairs. Lee was also a member of the band South of Santa Fe for several years.
Lee was a huge Disney fan and enjoyed yearly trips with his wife, Shirley. Lee also enjoyed having BBQs with all his friends and family. All who were fortunate enough to have steak with Lee raved about his steaks, they were the best!
Lee was predeceased by his parents Gerald and Lorraine Harvey.
Lee is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Shirley (Maschino) Harvey, his children Greg Roy of Gardiner, Nicole (Roy) Fyfe and her husband Charles of Pittston. He is also survived by his grandsons Ian and Eric Fyfe: 3 sisters, Colleen Smith and husband Sandy, Cindy Berg and husband Greg, Lisa Fitzgerald and husband Dan, brother-in-laws Mike Maschino and wife Nancy, Stan Maschino and wife Jeni, sister-in-law Julie Towne and husband Bill, as well as several aunts, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Shirley would like to thank all of their friends and family for their love and support. A special thank you to a phenomenal nurse and sister Julie Towne for all the loving care she gave to Lee.

There will be no services. A private family graveside service will be held in the spring at Libby Hill Cemetery in Gardiner.
