AUGUSTA – Gregory “Greg” J. Francis, 43, of Augusta, died Monday, October 5th, 2020 at his home surround by family after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Calais, Maine on September 30th, 1977, the son of Gregory K. Cline and Margaret A. Francis. Greg Francis grew up in Thomaston, Maine for most of his childhood. As a teenager he moved to California then eventually back to Maine where he spent some time on the reservation learning about his Passamaquoddy heritage. Throughout the years he was a Jack of all trades, but he always had a passion for wallpapering which he enjoyed doing with his family. Greg was an avid skateboarder, tagger (graffiti artist) and cyclist known for having the dopest styles, the cleanest kicks and playing the freshest tracks. In the end Greg spent his time living life to its fullest going on adventures with his love and best friend Michelle. As well as spending quality time with his family. He was able to reconnect with many loved ones as well make many new friendships. He had no regrets when he left us. He was one of the bravest people to ever walk this earth and a true inspiration. His warrior spirit, calming nature and his ability to make people smile could be matched by none and he will be missed by many. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Maynard and Mariam Linscott and Edna (Soup) Gabriel. Greg is survived by his mother, Margaret Pottle; father, Gregory Cline; two sisters, Rita Nickles, Patricia Joseph; brother, Francis Burgess; uncle, Kenny Linscott; aunt, Letty Linscott; daughter, Gia Francis; son, Keigan Francis and Michelle Hoak- Life partner and soulmate A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 15th, at 1:00 PM at the Forest Hill Cemetery, Route 73, Spruce Head, Maine. CDC guidelines are in effect, with masks and social distancing. Arrangements are in the care of Staples Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 53 Brunswick Avenue, Gardiner, Maine.
