PITTSTON – Harriette L. Cunningham, 71, of Pittston, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 19th, 2024, at the Alfond Center for Heath in Augusta, after a long battle with various medical issues. She was born January 1,1953 at the Augusta General Hospital, daughter of Albert and Margaret Massey. Harriette graduated Hall-Dale High school in1972. After graduation she worked various jobs, as a shoe factory worker, a Secretary at the State of Maine BMV, a Teachers Aid at MSAD #11 Schools, and her last job was helping manager a bowling center with her husband. Harriette enjoyed her time off playing beano, playing cards with "the girls", going to Oxford Casino, she was able to get to the casino one last time a few weeks ago. But most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandson, Janari and family. Harriette loved being a firefighter's wife. Always willing to help either with the Ladies Auxiliary or doing fundraisers for the department, she was always there. She loved participating in Fireman's Musters with other firefighter's wives. Harriette is survived by her husband Ron of Pittston, two children Derek Cunningham and wife Jennifer, and their children Eli and Isaiah, of Sidney, daughter Jessica Cunningham and significant other Jahmar and their son Janari, of Randolph; two brothers Albert Massey, and Richard Massey and wife Dawn, of Waterville, as well several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. A celebration of Harriette's life will be held on Sunday, October 6th, 2024, from 11:00 am to 2:30 pm at the Gardiner Lion's Club, 25 Lions Street, Gardiner, followed by a graveside service at 3:00 pm at the Putnam Cemetery, Whitefield Road, Pittston.
