Obituary

Pittston-Harry David Crone, 78, of Pittston earned his wings Monday, Oct. 26, 2015 at his home with his devoted wife and beloved daughter by his side. He was born in Danforth, ME on Oct. 13, 1937 to Harry H. and Blanche (Coffin) Crone. He attended local schools and furthered his education in the mental health field. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corp Oct. 1954 and served overseas during the Korean War. He received an honorable discharge on Oct. 1957. He was a resident of Natick for many years and worked for New England Press Steal as a truck driver, he also was in the labor union & spent time working for the town of Wellesley. After moving to Maine he worked for Bath Iron Works as a pipe insulator, he retired 18 years later. He then worked as a health care professional until 2014, along with many volunteer programs for local communities in Maine & Florida. Harry truly enjoyed the outdoors, he was always hunting, fishing & hiking or taking long walks on the beach. He was also an amazing gardener, there wasnt anything he couldnt grow. He was predeceased by both his parents Harry & Blanch, daughters Sharon Clark and Janice Alger. The youngest of eleven, he is survived by his loving wife Marie Crone, brother Jason Crone of Danforth, children Harry Crone and fianc Michele of Natick Mass., Dale Crone and Melissa of St. Petersburg, FL., Bridget Dionne and husband Jeff of Lewiston. And Step children Chris, John, Kevin & wife Amy Arsenault.Eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held Thursday Oct. 29th from 4-7pm at Staples Funeral home 53 Brunswick Ave. Gardiner Maine. Committal services with military honors will be held on Friday, Oct. 30th at noon at the chapel at the New Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery Mount Vernon Road, Augusta.
