Farmingdale - Helen Doris (Kopishke) Marston, 95 of Farmingdale passed away peacefully on April 23rd surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 9, 1920 in West Hoboken, NJ to Fredrick and Charlotte Kopishke. She spent 13 years working at Healthtex in Gardiner, Maine. She worked for 10 years at various state agencies. She also spent many years making and selling Artex and Vellux stuffed animals. She had a great love for her flower gardens, feeding and watching the birds outside her kitchen windows, making jewelry and cards. She belonged to a bowling league and was a member of the Cox Memorial Methodist Church where she enjoyed being part of the choir. She was one of the strongest women we have ever known. She lived through the depression, started a family and made a home with her 8 children on Bowman Street in Farmingdale. She never complained, she worked hard and always had the biggest sense of humor in which she passed on to her family members. She was predeceased by two sisters, Adeline Hasselbrock and Marion Lothridge, one brother, Fredrick Kopishke, two sons, Don Carl Marston and Raymond Pete Marston. She is survived by 3 sons Ronald Marston and wife Debbie of West Gardiner, David Marston and companion Georgeanna Carey of Albion, Barry Marston and wife Karolyn of Augusta, 4 daughters, Charlotte Kemp of Monmouth, Norma Swift Shorey and husband Bertie of Palermo, Shirley Taylor and husband Fred of Farmingdale and Laurel Peaslee and husband David of Farmingdale, 23 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, 14 great great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Michael Lacomb, Dr. Nathan Harmon, Dr. Dohner and Maine General Homecare and Hospice. Funeral services are under the direction of Staples Funeral Service. Visiting hours will be from 6 to 8 Monday April 25th A celebration of life will be held at 11am on Wednesday April 27 at the Cox Memorial Methodist Church, Middle Street, Hallowell with a gathering immediately following.
