AUGUSTA - Herbert Dwayne Stufflebeam, a beloved father and the soul of Maine's wilderness, departed on June 27, 2025. Born in Davenport, Iowa on December 29, 1931, to the late Eugene and Lilly Stufflebeam, Herbert carried the Midwestern spirit of resilience and adventure throughout his life.
Herbert's passion was the great outdoors, a love he channeled into a successful career as a Maine Outdoorsman. Throughout his life, Herbert continued to share his love for the outdoors.
Widowed by his beloved wife, Lynne of 49 years
Herbert is survived by his daughter, Judy Hayward, three sons Michael, Paul, and Mark Stufflebeam; grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A military graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 15th at 10:00am in Section I at the Maine Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 163 Mt. Vernon Road, Augusta.
