LITCHFIELD - Jacquelyn Mae Stevens, aged 78, of Litchfield, Maine, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, on July 13, 2025, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.
She was born on May 4, 1947, in Camden, Maine, Jacquelyn grew up in Appleton, Monmouth, and Litchfield. She spent her professional years as an account clerk for the State of Maine. Following her retirement, Jacquelyn continued to be an active member of her community, volunteering for the Litchfield Food Bank and being an active member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Monmouth. Her love for her family and friends, nature, and animals will forever be remembered by those who were fortunate to have known her.
Jacquelyn is survived by her two sons, Alton Stevens and his wife Robin of Litchfield, and Jeff Stevens and his fiancé Cheryl Buckmore of Litchfield; sisters Lenora York and Tryllis Carr; brothers John Hammond, Steve Hammond, and Bren Johnson; grandchildren Leela, Kassondra, Ryan, Mikayla, and Connor; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved pets, Brady and Mulan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alton and Madeline (Roy) Hammond, and husband Thomas Pratt.
A visitation for Jacquelyn will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 10:00 am to noon at the Staples Funeral Home, located at 53 Brunswick Ave, Gardiner. A private family burial will take place at Pine Grove Cemetery in Appleton.
