James H. Jordan 1948-2024
AUGUSTA- James H. Jordan,75, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at home. He is the loving husband to Karen J. (Pushard) Jordan.
James is the son of the late Maurice T. Jordan and Florence Harriet Virginia Taylor Jordan.
Jim graduated from Gardiner Area High School in 1967. He also graduated from Eastern Maine Vocational in Bangor.
Jim's career started in 1969 with Metropolitan Life Insurance Company he worked there until 1978, when he accepted employment with Globe Life Insurance Company where he worked until he retired in 2020.
Jim spent most of his time with a fishing rod or a gun in his hand. He was a police officer for many years in Maine, working on departments such as Gardiner, Richmond, and Sagadahoc County. Jim is a past member of Gardiner Rotary Club and was an active member of the Executive Board of Directors of the Gardiner General Hospital (which later became Kennebec Valley Medical Center). Jim was an individual who enjoyed working for charity, selling Christmas Trees in Cottles parking lot and helping to organize early Whatever Race events. He also enjoyed sports and owned the 10th Inning Baseball Card Shop on Water St. in Gardiner.
Jim is survived by his loving wife Karen, his daughters Maryann and her husband Bill of Augusta, Kathleen and her husband Jason of Readfield, sons Mike and his wife Catherine of Hermon, Matt and his wife Jenn of Windsor, David and his wife Erika of Augusta, and grandchildren Chris and his wife Damita of Nova Scotia, Viva, Byron, Madison, Grace, Leah, Aidan, Ava, Avery, Griffin, Jazmine, Luca and Mason.
Jim is predeceased by his parents Maurice and Virginia, as well as his daughter Martha.
There will be a brief graveside service at the Plains Cemetery. 56 Plains Road, Litchfield, Maine at 10:00 AM followed by a Celebration of Life at Faith Christian Church, 280 Brunswick Ave, Gardiner.
